Today’s tutorial is about register to open a domain.

Domain: Domain names are used in various networking contexts and application-specific naming and addressing purposes. It locates you site in the vast internet. For example: Google’s domain www.google.com locates Google in internet.

Types of Domain: Based on the payment, domain can be classified into two major classes, Paid domains & Free domains.

Free domains are mainly sub domain of a primary domain, which is given by company to a user for different business purpose. And for paid domain, you have to pay (payment is yearly and varies domain to domain) through a domain registrar to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to start your domain. Free domains:

• CO.CC: co.cc is one of the most popular free domains of this time. It looks unique because of its similarity with .com. It also provides different services like url forwarding, DNS management, Google apps etc. It can be your smart choice!

• CZ.CC: It’s also like co.cc provides various features.

• CO.TV: Its another free domain service. Interactive and also support DNS management.

• .TK: dot.tk is one short domain that is highly used to shorten long Url. Nowadays it’s also providing DNS service that can make your website more customizable and acceptable. It’s the only free domain service that gives you direct domain instead of sub-domain.

Note that, all free domains have limitations, and it’s better to move on paid domain after you’ve learnt how to utilize your domain perfectly.

Paid domains: As I’ve mentioned before, for paid domains you’ve to pay. Payment methods that are widely acceptable are Credit card, PayPal etc. Most cheap paid domain is .info and then others. Domain names price vary with time to time. Some popular paid domain registrars are:

• Name.com: Name.com is my personal choice; it’s easy to use and unique than the others. In name.com, current price of .com/.net is 8.99 USD and .info at .3.99USD. They support payment method of PayPal, Credit Card etc.
