Do you have a Facebook Username for your profile? It’s well known that when you select a username for your facebook Profile, it also modifies your profile URL. If your username is on facebook is MaxPowel, then your profile in Facebook just can be founded without searching by a direct URL http://www.facebook.com/MaxPowel! Not only that, you can set username from your fan pages (that minimum have +25 fans) and application pages. This is known as facebook Vanity URL and this is one thing that brought Facebook one step closer to Social Micro-Blogging site Twitter.
Well, Facebook never explained how did this URL thing really work or they have kept few secrets. But while using Facebook, I’ve discovered something that may interest you.
Do you have any Gmail address? In Gmail, if your username is username@gmail.com, then you also own u.s.e.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com (can be hundred of emails actually by positioning dots [.] in between the characters) and email on those address will forward the emails on your actual address username@gmail.com. And you know, Facebook also supports something just like that!

For example: URL of facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg‘s fan page is http://www.facebook.com/markzuckerberg

So what do you think? Will you be interested in using your short URL http://fb.me/username on your personal address card to link your Facebook Profile? Leave a comment..
Today, Facebook has updated it’s ad displaying system with some minor upgrades. Ads on right side bar are now showing ads with following changes:

What do you think about this changes? Will it be good enough for facebook advertisers to be interested on Facebook ads without Facebook’s most famous “Like” feature?

For few days, I’m too much busy and engaged with my day to day life that I’m hardly having time to update my blog. But today is an event that I don’t want to miss. And it’s Google’s 12th birthday. I believe who ever have used or using internet somehow connected with Google. It’s really hard to imagine a world without Google. I myself started my internet engagement with Yahoo! But when I start using Google, I was amazed how vast and how simple it’s. That’s the thing everyone like about Google, It’s Simple.

Happy Birthday Google! It’s 12 and I believe It’s just the beginning. We are expecting a lot more from you.
Few days ago, Facebook has rolled out a feature named Facebook Question as a beta project, which was tested with some user base across the Facebook. Later it has been reported that, Facebook has shut down developing this question feature and removed it from their testing list (I can’t confirm it though).
Have a look in the image below. I’m sure you’re quite familiar with this type of notification on your Facebook wall.

It's how it appears!
Facebook’s like feature has become a global phenomena and it has became a habit of Facebook users to like what suits with their mentality, not only pictures, videos or status updates but funny, fruitful and cute Quotes like “I’ve probably learnt more from Google than my School lessons!” What people do to put and like this kind of Quotes is to like some external 3rd party sites, which opens a backdoor of Facebook Security. These sites actually generate HTML pages titled with that Quotes and generate like button for each individual pages and liking them is actually nothing but sharing that website’s link in Facebook.

Title of that webpage
This link often may contain malicious contents like virus, Trojan blah blah etc, in where not only you but your friends who are interested to like same quote may get infected too by clicking that link! Moreover these likes appear in Facebook’s newly added Like box on profile, which is very much annoying.
My point of view is why Facebook don’t lunch a small feature for user to add their own quotes and like each others, with options for sharing them privately & globally. Facebook team can also add quotes of famous persons like Sir Abraham Lincoln and see how much people like them in these days too! If those 3rd party site can do it, then why Facebook can’t! It’ll also increase the security of Facebook users by decreasing external back links. They can add a new box or something else to show the quotes a person liked in his Facebook life time.
Facebook Question may not be a successful addition, but believe me; Facebook Quotes will not go down!

Facebook Has Updated Its Comments Plugin
Hi there all! Blogging after quite a time.. These days time is running so fast that, I hardly get enough time to find something creative and write it in here. But still, today I wish to put something in here. I already suggested it on Facebook related news blog, AllFacebook.com and thanks to NickONell who is kind enough to put those the site.
This is about a comments system upgrade of Facebook. Many people are confusing it with Facebook’s normal comment system upgrade but it’s not. It’s actually facebook social comments plugin update which has been used by many website and blog, including Facebook’s official blog http://blog.facebook.com .
You can see this comments system on action on > http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=436800707130
Any web designer who may like to use this Facebook comments system in his website, can have a visit on >http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/comments but I personally think DISQUS commenting system is still best. What do you think?
